Is it possible that Ann Coulter has created herself as some sort of perverse social experiment? I keep thinking that one day she'll appear on Hannity and Colmes and say, "Da haaaa! The joke's on you, America. I was just seeing how far outside the realms of reason and decency I could wander before you called me on it. Did anyone really think I was serious? And as for you, Sean...I want to send a great big "fuck you" over your way buddy, you stuttering fucking idiot."
Can anyone guess who Ann belittles in her latest column? (Please take a moment to read the whole thing. It's truly fabulous.) Yes naturally she complains about liberals, but look past the obvious. No, not Arabs. Not Frenchies. NANCY REAGAN.
Yes, the same Nancy Reagan who just rounded out a nice decade taking care of her vegetable husband by attending his funeral.
Ann says:
Someone persuaded poor, dear Nancy Reagan that research on human embryos might have saved her Ronnie from Alzheimer's. Now the rest of us are supposed to shut up because the wife of America's greatest president (oh, save your breath, girls!) supports stem-cell research...
But you can't blame Nancy. As everyone saw once again last week, she's still madly in love with the guy. She'd probably support harvesting full-grown, living humans if it would bring back Ronnie. Of course, I thought it was cute and not creepy that she consulted an astrologer about Reagan's schedule after he was shot.
I just hope that poor, dear, cute Nancy Reagan never comes across this snide, condescending bullshit. I mean jesus christ, Ann. Have just a shred of respect. Can you imagine if a liberal said something like this? Ann would respond: "Well this is just more proof that liberals are in league with Voldemort, and all of them just want to hijack planes and have sex changes and after they have sex changes, all the new males will want to give it to Saddam Hussein and all the new females will want to have Osama Bin Laden's baby."
And stem cell research? I can't even believe stem cell research is an issue to begin with. Let's see, we could throw these embryos in the trash. Orrr, we could use them to help save human lives. Nah, what the hell, let's just toss 'em. Will someone please explain this to me? But Ann says:
Most peculiar, the passing of America's most pro-life president is supposed to be a clarion call for conservatives to support the disemboweling of human embryos -- in contrast to that heartless brute President Bush always prattling on about the value of human life.
Ironically, the always market-oriented Ronald Reagan would probably have asked his wife, "Honey, if embryonic stem cell therapy is such a treasure trove of medical advances, why isn't private research and development funding flocking to it?"
President Bush has never said that fetal stem cells cannot be used for research. He said "federal money" cannot be used to fund such research. If leading scientists believed fetal stem-cell research would prove to be so fruitful in curing Alzheimer's, why is the private money not pouring in hand over fist?
Ok, first of all, I just want everyone to be straight on a one detail: About all that "disembowling" that liberals support--the embryos used for stem cell research (which are typically about 4 days old) can't be disembowled because they don't have bowels. They don't have lungs either. Or a heart or brain or any specialized tissue or organ. Because what are they, boys and girls? Ding ding! That's right! They're stem cells. A 4-day old embryo (called a blastocyst) is actually a hollow ball of about 100 undifferentiated cells. Which I'm sure Ann knew when she picked the word "disembowling."
As for the question she puts into Reagan's mouth: "Honey, if embryonic stem cell therapy is such a treasure trove of medical advances, why isn't private research and development funding flocking to it?"...well, if Ann could manage to stop puking invectives long enough to do a Google search for "private stem cell research," she would see that the very first site returned is titled:
USATODAY.com--Private stem cell research widens. Whaddya know.
As you can read here, Harvard biologist Doug Melton has raised private money to develop 17 new batches of stem cells, which he is sending to other scientists for just the cost of shipping. Kudos to you, Doug Melton. (Ann is no doubt scratching her head, bewildered as to why this guy would just give away these cells. Not motivated by the almighty buck? This feller sounds awfully komyoonistic to me. She'd better include him in her next book, Slanderous Scientists: How Treasonous Liberal Lab Nerds Used Cells From Impaled Babies to Clone Terrorists in Test Tubes.) Biopharm International reports that UC, San Francisco has also pulled together $11 million in private funding to found a new stem cell research center.
As you can read here, other private groups and even individual states are moving to support stem cell research as well. For example:
Seeking out private money is becoming something of a trend among stem-cell researchers. California activists have proposed a $3 billion ballot initiative to finance embryonic stem-cell research. And New Jersey Gov. James E. McGreevey recently allocated $6.5 million of the state's budget to stem-cell research at Rutgers University, and said he hopes to pump $50 million into the research over the next five years.
If private investment isn't "flocking" toward stem cell research in the quantities that would convince Ann of the research's value, could it perhaps be because the research is so risky and controversial? Surely investors are a little rattled by the possibility that stem cell research could be restricted even further in the future. The thing is that research is happening in companies. In fact, one of the reasons that only 12 of the 70 stem cell lines the president intially claimed were usable for research turned out to actually be usable, is that many of them are tied up by private companies.
Of course, the point Ann misses entirely is that you don't want all research on a single topic to be done privately. If only research projects that promised good financial returns were undertaken, we'd be in serious trouble. Many important discoveries have been made on a hunch or by accident by scientists whose line of research was not considered profitable. Alexander Fleming discovered penicillin only because mold from the lab below him kept getting into his own and contaminating the petri dishes that he was in the habit of leaving around open (to see if anything interesting happened). How would Fleming do at his bi-annual job review? How do you project the returns from the "serendipity" to which scientists always give so much credit?
University researchers are also subject to things like peer review and ethics committees, which can be lacking in private research. Peer review means that scientists have to stand up to each others' scrutiny. Ethics commitees prevent things like the Tuskegee Syphilis Experiment, in which 399 poor, black men with syphilis were experimented on for 40 years without their ever being treated or even told they had syphilis. Needless to say, it is processes like these that serve to keep research top-notch. Here is a good little piece about the need for a mix of public and private research.
As for Ann Coulter, there is one inspiring thing about her--she's proven that it's possible to make a very successful career out of being hateful and stupid. God bless the marketplace of ideas.

Ann Coulter is doing the devil's work. She makes us hate each other. She is full of sin and will not go to Heaven.

I just saw Ann Coulter's spot on the most recent Bill Maher show. Richard Belzer threatened to walk off and called her a "fascist party doll". He was being kind. If you put her with that other racist, evil cunt Laura Ingrahm(?), you have twin book-end whores for the extreme right who should be shot on sight. It would be worth going to prison to see those two sows dead. And please, don't call them bitches, you will give bitches a bad name. "Cunt" is a better term because a cunt is something useless and mindless that you put foul smelling things into and they spew forth equally vile filth (this does NOT apply to most women), only the Ann/Lauras of the world. I have a theory: the mothers of these two women got fucked by the devil while they were already pregnant with these abominations. Ann and Laura turned around in the womb and got a free shot from the devil himself, and that is why they are so evil and filled with hate.

Just thought I would do a sanity check on Ann Coulter to see if she was still in form. I unearthed this gem - Forty Excuses and a Mule.
(Not only is the title insulting, but her references to Colin Powell and Condi Rice are deeply offensive, since there is not a single black this side of Nazi Germany who views those two as representative of black people at large. Lauding tokenism as progressiveness is just plain comical. Colin Powell is the only one in the administration with a brain as well as the only person who actually served in combat, and he was dead-set against the war. Look what it got him.)
...And apparently, black voters can also look forward to a lot of patronizing demagoguery from the Democrats, such as the claim that Republicans maliciously suppressed the black vote in Florida in 2000.
Kerry claims Republicans disenfranchised one million black voters in Florida in 2000, but neglects to mention that after extensive and expensive hearings, the U.S. Civil Rights Commission failed to name a single one of them. Can you name just one out of that "million," Sen. Kerry? We've found more WMDs in Iraq than we've found disenfranchised blacks in Florida.
Indeed -- to the contrary! -- in 2000, blacks composed 11% of registered voters in Florida, but made up 17% of those who actually voted. If that's how Republicans "suppress" the black vote, blacks are better off when Republicans attack them than when Democrats pretend to be nice to them.
Yah right. You don't lie, do you? What book are you reading those statistics from?
I listened to one disenfranchised black voter on the radio just yesterday, explaining how he had to jump through hoops to get re-registered for the upcoming election, just to find out he was illegally thrown off the rolls again!
I suppose Ann did not watch CSPAN the day the steady parade of black Democratic congresscritters marched up to the podium in 2000 and declared that Florida's election was a fraud, only to have not a single senator sign their petition. Al Gore, in the cruelest irony I have ever witnessed, presided over the proceedings, meticulously repeating that he was powerless to intervene without a signature from the Senate.
Ann knows that she is lying, distorting, and misrepresenting. She does so gleefully, like a child sneaking into the candy jar.
The problem with selling your soul is that you become so ridiculous that not even your own children believe anything you say.

this gem - Forty Excuses and a Mule, "d":
Yeah, that's the one of the "many, many" reasons (childless) why Ann-Cunt has the great hateful passion against the people, same as the America's first prostitute cold-blooded-hateful-serial-killer, Aileen Wuornos! The 2--different hateful creatures but same hateful attitute......
Come on now, Without must stand up straight and tall to defend the truth for God against all the lowest of the low Cain-whorehouse's slandering lies/liars, which are too evilly dirty and low that the world has ever seen (except Jesus), passionately hate against others, why? Come on, haven't her very own public hateful garbage writings/speach confessed her very own personal S&D clearly already?

I hate Anne Coulter, but I would do her.

Can someone please explain to me why democrats think that Ann getting a single fact wrong (i'll even admit she probably does, even though most of the examples on this site are not exactly iron-clad) is a henious act (lies, lies, lies, lies as someone above posted) but it is prefectly OK for a President of the United States to lie under oath? So miss representing facts in a column is a henious act, but lying under oath to the entire country from the Oval Office makes you a hero?
At least you could defend Ann by saying that in addition to be a conseravtive spokes-woman, she is also an entertainer who has to keep writing things that people want to read so she can keep her job. She is not sworn in before writing a column, and you are always free to research her facts and find out for yourself (of course it is also lost on democrats that the fact they can go to CNN or the NYT and find opposing "facts" proves Ann's position, not weakens it). But Clinton was sworn in, and he did lie. No-one can dispute this (unless you think its his long lost identical twin's semen on that blue dress).
It amazes that people claim to start a discussion about Ann Coulter based on the facts and then spend the entire discussion pointing out how mean she is and how her use of insults are just uncalled for. What happened to the discussion of the fact? As Ann stated in her latest book, "people don't get angery when you tell lies about them, they get angery when you tell the truth."
Liberal are very angery about Ann Coulter. You do the math.

I, uh, love my wife Ann. Because... Well, she's... Not as bad as Big Mouth O'Reilly.
And as her husband, I'm proud to say that so far there are "No sex scandals for Ann."
"Ann Coulter -- She's better than a Canadian liberal..."

Mr. Ann Coulter......
NOW that is a new definition of bitch!
But that would be a non-sequitur since Ms. Coulter would like to be one since they too were born a man! Ok, I was joking, AC is not a transsexual, but they sure could "pass" for one.
The subject might be open to debate, but she walks like a guy and she has a bigger adams apple than most steroid abusers!!!
S/he is a creation designed to discredit the homophobic right-wing-nuts. I mean think about it, even if she is mistaken for being a tranny, it helps the New World Order by showing that anybody can be a fascist... but if you get some hair extensions, a boob-job and wear the shortest skirts in town, you can get most Rush Limbarf fans to get into shemales.
Someone told me that they had to kill-off Wally George and sew on some new body parts to make her. Rumour has it that CNN is replacing Crossfire and using Coulter teamed with Laura Ingrahm(sp) against some fake liberal men in dresses and call it crossdressers. I mean it is just a dress-up party anyway.... right? One party, I mean world order, who needs two parties anyway, we are at war!!!!
I sure would like to see Coulter get drafted, but just think, if they cut her hair she WILL look like a guy. It is just pathetic that so many neocons think she is a hottie when she is just a skeleton with fake blond hair.
She can't write. She can't debate. But those dorks with priapism don't care.
One thing is for sure, radio would not be too kind to her unless she uses a voice-changer because if you did not have the visual facade, there would be some serious cognitive dissonance!
I just wish that those guys with pies could have had better aim, but hey she is a demon!!!!
Our only chance is to sell special glasses that would show who and what she really is (like in THEY LIVE).
Is it me, or does she want to fly? I mean she is always flapping her lanky arms. S/he is so combative, perhaps that is the fact that she cut off her brain, I mean member.
Just pay attention to their body language and make your own observations.
These neocons usually eat their own, but in the case of AC, (ann coulter, not aleister crowley) I don't think that the beast wants to get sick.

I do not know about you, 'Thom Burns', but to me the most important thing about a person is their heart and their character, not their capped teeth and coiff. Ann Coulter is a lying cunt. Period. Nothing beeautiful there.

I confess I did not read everything. It was just too vacuous. But I have a few words of advice. Stick to the issues. Stop the name calling. You only reflect poorly on yourselves.
To address the one specific issue about stem-cell research on embryos - this is an issue of human dignity. The only way I believe I can make you understand is to ask you a question. If it was recommended that the dead bodies of the victims of the Holocoust in WWII be used for research, make up, and skin care products, would you be horrified? Since I, and many of my contempories view abortion as the biggest Holocoust in the history of the world, this is how we view stem cell research on these victims of this atrocities.

P.S. I have read may of Ann Coulter's articles and books and this blog is far more hateful.
Posted by: Missy | May 05, 2005 at 11:00 PM
It's really hard to argue with people who start out their comments by say, "I confess I did not read everything." That seems to indicate that they really aren't interested in an argument.

Ann Coulter is a Middle-Aged Infidel
The Eva Braun of the conservative right has done it again. In an unbelievable display of insensitivity, syndicated Bush shill Ann Coulter referred to 109 year-old Lebanese immigrant Helen Thomas as an "old Arab", without at least prefacing her slur with the adjective "venerable".
"Press passes can't be that hard to come by if the White House allows that old Arab Helen Thomas to sit within yards of the president," Coulter venomously scribbled in her February 23 column.
The American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (AAAC), an Arab civil rights organization devoted to scanning newspapers for things to be offended by, condemned Coulter's remarks and called on Universal Press Syndicate to beat her senseless in accordance with the Holy Quran.
"Her insensitive and stereotypical words concerning the Arab peoples must not be tolerated" said the group's chairman, Muhammed Achmed Achmed Muhammed Muhammed Achmed Muhammed. "'Old Arab?' How would she like it if we referred to her as a 'Middle-Aged Infidel'? 'Look! Here comes that Middle-Aged Infidel! I'm surprised they let that Middle-Aged Infidel in here! Everybody laugh at the Middle-Aged Infidel! HA HA HA!"
Coulter is no stranger to controversy. Only two short days after the horrific events of 9/11, when many Arab-Americans were still reeling from the loss of twelve of their people aboard those doomed flights, she sadistically poured salt on their wounds by suggesting that we should "invade their countries, kill their leaders, and convert them to Christianity". So it was no surprise that 500,000 outraged Lebanese citizens took to the streets of Beirut yesterday to protest Coulter's bigoted remarks concerning the venerable old Arab. In addition, 26 Congressional democrats signed a resolution declaring March 9 "Ann Coulter is a Lying Whore with Cottage Cheese Thighs Day", including Senator Robert Byrd who blasted her as being "just another one of them white niggers".
While Faux News has been typically silent concerning their little rottweiler's naziesque nastiness, the mainstream media was righteously miffed over Coulter's insensitivity. DemsTV took a brief time out from microwaving Ann Coulter dolls to lash out at the conservative pundit for her immature, tasteless attacks. After being briefly overcome with the vapors, blogging sensation Oliver Willis also condemned the "vile, disgusting, filthy festering sore on the grace of humanity" for her insensitive hatespeech, and threatened to "scratch her eyes out" should she ever "show her cottage cheese thighs around Silver Spring".
Widely hailed as the "Great Dane of Journalism", Helen Thomas has been a fixture in the White House press corps ever since she completely calcified sometime during the Johnson administration. Proud of her Lebanese heritage, she kept her Arabic name when many others in her profession anglicized theirs. However, she chose to take the high ground and refused to comment on Coulter's insensitive remarks. Instead, she had strong words for the Bush administration, which has done much to create a vitriolic political climate where ad hominem attacks have taken the place of polite discourse.
"Condoleeza Rice is a monster...a monster and a goddam liar" the esteemed, unbiased journalist told the nice orderlies. "George Bush is...is a goddam fascist who eats little Iraqi children."
Ann Coulter is not a tenured university professor who hates America, and therefore isn't protected by our first amendment right to free speech. If the little Eichmanns of the right were real men, they'd tell that Middle-Aged Infidel to take her ratty hair, her cottage cheese thighs, and her divisive rhetoric back to Dumbfukistan where she belongs.
Correction: The chairman of The American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee was incorrectly identified as Muhammed Achmed Achmed Muhammed Muhammed Achmed Muhammed. The actual chairman is Achmed Muhammed Muhammed Achmed Muhammed Achmed. Muhammed Achmed Achmed Muhammed Muhammed Achmed Muhammed is the assistant vice-chairman. I apologize for any confusion.
Correction: I inaccurately stated that "beating" was the punishment for disobedient women according to the Quran. Chapter 4:34 of the Holy Quran actually specifies "scourging", followed by a "beating" only if she's still got some sass left in her. Again, my apologies.

ann coulter is nothing more than an arrogant, ignorant traditionalist. she has a weak mind and she is only popular because so many other people are weak-minded idiots. if you were to throw her back in time to, lets say, 1880 she would fit right in. she would own slaves and thumb her nose to anyone of a lower class. however, she would not have such a big mouth because her husband(if she could get one) would pop her in the mouth. but something tells me she would enjoy the obvious male domination over her. sad.

I cannot stand this woman because of her intolerance for everyone that does not automatically agree with her! She is extremely scary due to the fact that the rest of the world sees publicized hate like that listed within Ann Coulter's mindless books, and begins to believe that the majority of Americans feel the same way. I think that to follow Ann Coulter preaching about how great she is, is to basically admit that you condone and advocate not only intolerance, seek a drastic regression of values in our society ( she thinks that all laws created after the Emancipation Proclamation could and should be repealed), is obviously a walking moral contradiction (believes that if you are a single person, it's ok to sleep around with whomever, but if you are a married individual, your overall conduct should be well above reproach), it's ridiculous! If anyone really values being an American, being able to have your own ideas, express them, be allowed to debate those views, and not automatically labeled accordingly for those ideas as a liberal or conservative, they would not support this woman. She is an enormous embarassment to professional women, like myself, that are simply trying to push themselves further in a man's world, and make it clear that women deserve all of the rights that we have earned.
Of all people, I am shocked that young people would support her! Read up on someone's background info before you blindly accept what they are preaching as the gospel truth! This person's causing many of those who were her supporters to distance themselves from her due to her hype and outrageous comments. I would think that tact would be an important asset to have if I were a reporter/columnist or public figure.

anne coutler must be stopped. she is a sad pathetic excuse for a human being and one day soon i hope she realizes it. her ideas are outdated, uneducated, racist, sexist, and awful. she has to present them in a brash and always 'shocking' way or no one would ever care what she was saying. people like her hold america and the world back with outdated views of what a family and a moral person is. she always must hide behind christianity and the fact that she is just 'telling it like it is' so that people don't realize what a joke she really is. if you support her know that you are supporting comments like this: "I think we ought to nuke North Korea right now just to give the rest of the world a warning" "My only regret with Timothy McVeigh is he did not go to the New York Times building" "Frankly, I'm not a big fan of the First Amendment" "Press passes can't be that hard to come by if the White House allows that old Arab Helen Thomas to sit within yards of the President"

Ann has just written another fabulous screedy tome attacking her Other, the convenient and mythic "liberal" foil. Hers is a bifurcated-leaning mind-pleasing take on the US political map. How easy it must be to divide the landscape into two crude and reductive halves and then attack one half by pretending to be a dedicated part of the other. Of course it then makes for good theater on Fox and the babblers radio circuit.
